Well, if you would turn your attention to Job, the book of Job, chapter 38, beginning with

verse 4 through verse 7. There you'll notice these words. Where were you when I laid the foundations

of the earth? Tell me if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions

and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations and who laid its cornerstone?

As the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy.

Today I'm speaking from the subject simply the power of a question, the power of a question,

the power of a question.

Job had asked God some questions and now God was asking Job some questions.

God put him on the witness stand and said, now let me ask you some questions.

And let me make this statement to you that questions win arguments.

Questions win arguments. And. Win arguments.

And they do.

They have the ability, the uncanny ability of actually winning an argument.

Jesus had this ability to be able to win arguments.

There was some folks attacking Jesus in Matthew chapter 21, verse 23 down through 27.

And Jesus simply asked them a question and shut them all up.

He won the argument with a question, not a statement, but with a question.

Because a good question has the ability to keep asking the hearer to think about something long after the question

is asked. There's an old Chinese proverb that says that he who asks a question is a fool for

five minutes, but he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever.

There is a power in just being able to ask a question.
