In the early 1980s, a young boy in Connecticut was seemingly put under the spell or control of an unseen force shortly after moving into a new family home.

A power so strong that it took many months of blessings and exorcisms to try and rid the dark entity from the boy.

During one of these exorcisms, feeling pity for the boy, Arnie Johnson stepped

in and demanded the spirit take him rather than the boy. This would be the start of a second

chapter to a story that would end in murder, and one claiming the devil made him do it. Today, Jeff

The devil made me do it.

My first encounter with this story, I was probably 14 or 15 years old,

and I heard Ed and Lorraine talk about it at a library program in Newtown, Connecticut,

which is where this whole story began and the town I grew up in.

So I attended, and this was a big case.

They talked about it often.

And what was Yuri?

I mean, I'm assuming this isn't like in the children's section of the library.

No, this is like, it's October.

So they do these, you know, these speaking tours that they did

every year, you know, around Christmas you go to see the Rockettes.

And in October, you go to see Ed and Lorraine Warren.
