Yes, I know there's some ambiguity in the word.

The teeth could be 18th, 17th, 16th,

but it is in fact the 19th.

I say you want a holiday either to be named for a thing and then you say wait what date is that or for a date like July 4th

but if Independence Day were called July ifth and then you have to ask is that the fifth the sixth there be a little bit of ambiguity but you know

quibbles aside and also let's say that Juneteenth is a little like the

NBA's most improved player award you kind of sucked in the beginning.

I know we're giving you an award now,

but if you had just been good from the get-go,

but that actually is very analogous to the United States.

You kind of sucked in the beginning when it came to slavery.

Yeah, I understand there could be no United States without compromises and so forth, but objectively speaking, you sucked. You sucked by allowing it.

But now, let us at least celebrate the end of slavery, celebrate this thing that it was

horrible to have had happened in the first place. I was wondering who celebrates Juneteenth. We do, we hear it to JIST, and we pass that on to you by denying you a JIST tomorrow.

It's a federal holiday, but not all states have to follow federal holidays.

Brings up some questions about what federal holidays really mean.

It means bank holidays, federal offices.

You think Joe Biden could make a rule that would apply to say Mississippi and Alabama?

Oh no, it does not. Juneteenth is celebrated or at least observed in Alabama
