This week, I'm joined by Motherboard Contributing Editor Matthew Galt to talk about the

resurgent interest in Pokemon cards, magic cards, sports

cards, and what it is doing to the labor markets associated with high-end card grading.

This is something that I myself dove into over the pandemic because like so many other people,

I found my old Pokemon cards in my closet and realized that they're

suddenly worth a lot of money. I've been kind of following what's been happening here and we have

basically people fighting each other at Target stores over Pokemon cards. We have a labor crisis

at three of the major companies that do card grading. And we also have some parallels
