Summary

Volume 28 of Brad & Mira For the Culture. What can we say? A tragic and apocalyptic week here in Los Angeles. Today's episode is a conversation about the fires. The episode almost didn't happen. Mira has asthma and fled to the desert in such haste that she forgot her computer. So recording was difficult. (She ended up using her phone, which created technical difficulties, which is why this episode is airing a day late.) We talk about, among other things, air quality, particulate matter, toxic ash. About incinerated Warhols and celebrities who lost their homes. And other stuff. Hopefully we'll be back to some semblance of normal next week and having a fun, mindless conversation about meaningless pop culture bullshit. *** Otherppl with Brad Listi is a weekly podcast featuring in-depth interviews with today's leading writers. point. When we got there, we stayed one night and then the next day the power went out. So, wait, because of what? Because of winds? Yeah, the winds are fucking crazy out here. Like the winds in San Diego or like the same as LA or were. And then in Joshua Tree, there's like a separate wind event that just ended yesterday. And it was, like, it's windier than I've ever seen in Joshua Tree. And it has nothing to do with the LA fires, which is fucked. And so, yeah, the power went out at the other place. We were, like, sitting in there in, like, the cold, dark, like, waiting for Spencer. He had gone over to, like like a cafe in town to look for another Airbnb.
