Welcome to the Action Network podcast presented by DraftKigs. I'm your host, Mike Calabrese. And every Wednesday I'm going to be joined by Spencer Aguier and Kyle Murray to dive into the tournament of the week. This week, we have a special one, the Players Championship teeing off at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday. It is the unofficial fifth major in the PGA tour, and it's bringing out the stars.

Obviously, we have Scotty and Rory headlining in the field. Last year, we saw maximum drama

with Rory pulling it out in a playoff over J.J. Spawn. Scotty, of course, won in 2023 and

2024. So that'll be a question that we get into right away. Should it be those two against

the field? Is this the kind of

course that will present an opportunity for someone to dethrone them? But before we get into that,

let's just talk about the course broadly. Pete Dye's design is strategically demanding in so many

different ways. It emphasizes precision over power. You got narrow landing zones on those

fairways. You have dog legs that

really prevent bombing it into necessitating layups. You got water everywhere. It's a course that

puts pressure on the field to fine tune their approach, to really work through their short game.

And it pushes the players that have that in their bag to the front of the class here. So let's start

here, Spencer, in terms of this course.
