You've heard of people who changed the course of history.

But before they made their mark on the world,

they were people like you and me,

still figuring out what they wanted to do with their lives.

On this episode, you will be that person everyone knows.

You might be a musician or an athlete, a scientist or a painter. You may know what

the person accomplished later in life, but now you can experience everything they faced along

the way, from challenges and heartbreak to triumphs and excitement, all the moments that built this person into someone who would change the world.

There are clues to who you are, so pay attention, but only at the end will you find out who you are.

So sit back and imagine your amazing life as the planner. You're eight years old sitting in the back of your family's bronze Buick Electra as it glides through the south side of Chicago.

Your dad's driving and your mom is in the front seat.

Your brother Craig is sitting to your left.

You love going on these drives with your family, laughing and joking together. Today you're rolling

through a neighborhood called Pille Hill. It's a funny name but it's a lovely place.

These houses are big.

Your dad looks back at you in the rearview mirror.

That's right, and you know who lives in a lot of them? Who? Black families like ours.

Huh. Didn't you say you wanted to be a pediatrician when you grow up? That's what you tell

grown-ups whenever they ask, but inside you're not sure. Yeah, I mean I think

so. Pediatricians make good money.

Maybe you'll find yourself living in a house like that one day.
