Good evening from Los Angeles. I'm Jason Johnson. We are less than a month out from a second

Trump presidency. But what are we really in for? We know what Donald Trump wants his administration

and his government to look like, a reality TV show. Nearly a dozen of Trump's

nominees to cabinet and executive posts so far have been Fox hosts or contributors, including Pete

Heggseth, his problematic pick to be Secretary of Defense, is a list of hires that's long on style

and short on substance. But assuming he can get most of

these people in place, what will Trump's administration policies look like? For that, you have to

look to Project 2025. The Republican plan to purge the civil service and remake the federal

workforce in its far-right image.

That plan proved hugely unpopular voters, and Trump distanced himself from it during the campaign,

but he was lying. And now we know. At least seven Trump nominees have ties to Project 2025, according to the New York Times, including Russell Vaught, the architect of Project 2025,

who Trump has tapped to run the all-important office of management and budget.

So it looks like a sweeping remake of the federal government is part of the plan to go along with

Trump's most authoritarian campaign promises, promises of costly tariffs on imports that already have companies

and consumers scurrying to stockpile some goods. Promises of mass deportations that are already

being opposed by civil rights activists and economists. Those are the easiest policies for Trump to

implement, and they're not easy to do, especially for an

incoming president who is posting angrily through the holidays about annexing Canada and Greenland

and the Panama Canal. While Republicans in Congress openly defy him and do the bidding of an

unelected billionaire Trump backer, who some have taken to calling his co-president.

There's no question that Trump can do unprecedented damage to America in a very short amount

of time. But there's also no question that he's coming into office relatively weak with a slate
