From the deserts of Tunisia to a cathedral in Washington, D.C., there is no escaping this

sci-fi epic, especially on a day like today.

Thank you. Parts of the Star Wars Galaxy might not be as far away as we thought. Parts of it are actually visitable.

The real question is for how much longer? Okay, if you've ever seen the

Star Wars prequel trilogy, you're already familiar with Moes Esfa. It's a desert spaceport located on

the remote planet of Tatunin, which got its name from a real place, Tatawin in southern Tunisia.

The real place is a desert town with cave dwellings that draw tourists.

The fictional set of Mos Espa is close by.

In episode one, the Phantom Menace, Jedi Quigong Jin describes Mos Espa as a haven for those who wish not to be found.

The main square is full of people, robots, and animals all against the desert background.

Its architecture blends in the sand that surrounds it. Its buildings are dome-shaped,

are very rectangular, and they all stay pretty close to the ground.

And though tall structures were added with CGI and post-production, the main buildings you see in the films are very real.

For example, remember when Jar Jar steps in poop and says, and I quote,

that's the photo you can recreate at Most Espa.

Just stand in between the buildings that are connected by an archway.
