Summary

I am considering adding the idea of regular photography assignments as part of the videos that I make here. This would give you the chance as a photographer to react to the ideas that we talk about on the show. But I need your feedback first – is this something you would find useful or fun to do? Let me know in the comments!

So I have an idea that I would like to get your feedback on and one of the things that I'm considering adding into the show is some kind of regular photography assignment.

0:09.2

And this could be something that we could do maybe once a month or once every two weeks or

0:13.3

maybe once a week I don't know what that schedule would look like but you know a

0:17.0

lot of times when I prepare the shows that I do there's a topic or something I

0:20.9

discuss and people have questions on that but we sort of move on to

0:24.8

other things and I think that might help address some of that continuity and also some of the problems

0:30.8

and questions that people have with things and so I'm curious to know

0:33.9

whether you guys would find this useful or not. You know we talk about a lot of

0:37.4

things on the show and last week I used the term creating meaningful work and a lot

0:41.6

of people surprisingly didn't know what I meant by that.

0:45.0

Creating meaningful work means pushing yourself to create something that means something,

0:48.8

0:54.6

pushing yourself to do that will improve your work as a photographer. You need to do

0:59.0

something that means something and so I think that this would be something that could address that in some

1:04.8

ways. So the way it would work is we could talk about a technique or a concept or

1:09.8

something and then there would be some kind of assignment-based form so that you as a

1:13.4

photographer could put that into practice. I think this would be beneficial to

1:17.2

people who watch the show, it'd be beneficial to me certainly because I could

1:20.1

participate and when I prepare these and I think this could be something that could be

1:23.4

be something that could be really interesting.

1:26.2

About a year and a half, two years ago I did something similar and we were doing

1:30.8

these photo challenges that would result in book giveaways and
