Last week, we talked about, or at least we said, we were going to talk about the person

work of Christ, and basically what we ended up getting through was the two natures in Christ

That's completely understandable because if, as we say, this is the center of everything that we believe, teach, and confess,

it might take a little bit of time for us to get through it.

So this week, we wanted to talk a little more specifically about the person and work of Christ

maybe the helpful systematic categories that come along with that. We were talking before we started

recording. We may not have all the answers of all the history of our systematics here because

some of that's hard to trace down, but we can at least walk you through the basics today.

So as we do that, we're looking at the person and work of Christ.

We wanted to start with something that is often called the states of Christ.

What are we talking about when we say the states of Christ, Dr. Rosenwald?

Well, historically, they were trying to make sense of passages, as usual.

And so what they discovered from the passages was that some passages speak of the state of

Christ in his state of humility, and then other passages speak of Christ in his state of exalted,
