So we're finishing our advent by looking at another chapter 5.

I didn't see it ahead of time or we probably would have come up with a more clever title,

but we've done three advent messages from the Gospels and counters that people had with Jesus.

And all of them have come from chapter 5 of the Gospels.

And we're Matthew chapter 5 at 515, Garcin Drive, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden,

let your light so shine before men.

So we're always Matthew 515 at Passion City Church, but we did Luke 5, the story of a man

who was lowered through the roof.

We did John 5, a man who was crippled by the pulubeth asda, and today we come to Mark chapter

5, another incredible encounter that a person like you and like me had with Jesus.

And this is the story of advent.

Christmas is not about religion, it's not about a system, it's not about a plan, it's not

about a lifelong journey on a religious arc where a hopeful payoff at the end.

Christmas is about God breaking through all the systems with the Savior named Jesus Christ,

and you can spend your whole life on a religious path, and you can have more change happen

in two minutes with Jesus than in a lifetime of trying to pursue a list or some rules

or a structure or a system or a plan that maybe at the end has a potential payoff of you

having peace with God.

And so we see another one of these encounters in Mark chapter 5, I encourage you to open

your scripture if you have it.

And we're beginning in verse 21, and just to set the stage for us a little bit, in this
