We are motorsport writers for the athletic, and that was an extra long intro because that race deserved it.

And that was, bravo, everybody involved in that one that was chef's kiss that was as good as it gets

watching a NASCAR race especially a NASCAR playoff race i mean just absolutely phenomenal

no notes perfection for me uh what a day jordan how you feel in there it's good it was really really

good and to see you know all eight playoff drivers you know largely in the mix throughout the day

slug it out this felt like a heavyweight fight where at various points different guys felt like

they were in

control um larsson early then there was bell and the redic and then blaney and then hamlin and at various

points just all kept shifting and even throw elli in the mix and it's like wow this is what it's going to be

this is this is everything you want

a playoff race to be. And by the way, it's happening at the epitome of a driver's racetrack,

the showcase track in NASCAR where a driver's skill set is best displayed out of all others,

where they have such a say in how this

race is going to unfold because of their ability you know you can run multiple lanes it's about

tire management and their strategy there's everything that you want to see in a race

you really got here at various stages throughout the race.

Was it a perfect race?

I don't know about that, but this was really good.
