but it can truly make or break your handmade garments. So we'll cover how to choose between

common hemming problems. So Haley, our icebreaker for today, have you ever had a

hemming disaster? I've had many hemming disasters. The one that was the most disastrous was I made this dress for a couture sewing class and

it was a very beautiful dress. It had two components. There was like an underdress that was made

of several layers of chiffon. And it was very billowing.

So the hem circumference was really enormous.

And then I had like seven of them.

And when I designed it, I just was like not thinking about the fact that I was going to have to hem like yards and yards

and yards of this chiffon. And and then there was also this like little like kind of like corset-y type

structured harnessy thing that went over and like sent it all in. It was a really cool dress.

But I had left an afternoon to hem. By an afternoon,

I mean like three or four hours. I thought I was being generous. And laughing because I feel

your pain. We've all done that. It was so bad. I ended up having to cut off like a couple of inches of the hem because I was just chewing it to pieces.

And then I was in like a sewing studio with someone else who had a rolled hem foot.

And they were like, try this, which was great and really helpful once I got the hang of it. Yeah. And I didn't have that

much scrap fabric to practice on. And I was up like all night hemming this dress and there were

many tears shed over it. It turned out really beautiful though. And it gave everything I wanted it
