My colleague Kate Howells has written a belated review of the asteroid disaster movies, Armageddon,

and Deep Impact, reviewing what they got right and what they got very, very wrong.

There's an image of China's first Mars rover next to its landing platform at the top

of the June 18 downlink newsletter.

It's not a selfie.

The rover dropped off a wireless camera and then backed up into the resulting image.

Pretty cool, and you can see it at planetary.org slash downlink.
