air with me. I'd love to talk to you. Cyrus, do you remember the gentleman who called in was it yesterday i think it was and he had a soldier's prayer it was very brief

oh he's the vietnam vet mm-hmm yeah that was a great call it was well he wrote me an email after

the show so this is from michael Mike, and he's listening on, I guess he's listening on the app because he didn't list the station.

So here's what Mike wrote to me.

He said, Patrick, I was the one who called you with the soldier's prayer, your continued conversation on your remembrance of when you were around 12 about how the Vietnam

veterans were treated struck right through my heart. I graduated high school in 1972,

enlisted in 1973, but I was not drafted. When my quote-unquote friends heard that I had

enlisted, they started in with the baby killer remarks.

I separated myself from them, and when I was discharged, I never went back to Denver where I was from. I enlisted because, from a very early age, I was taught about the threat of communism

and saw the need to make a stand and to grow up. I know that Vietnam was about politics, too,

and have learned so much in the years after the war,

but I do not regret my decision. I never made it to Vietnam as my orders were changed a month

before I completed Forward Observer Training as the war was de-escalating by then. Thank you for your

remembrances and for taking my call, sincerely Mike. That is really cool.
