Andrea well good morning Patrick I'm calling because I had a miscarriage and it was before we had our first prenatal visit, so it was, you know, prior to 10 weeks.

The miscarriage happened at home, and I was able to collect the remains.

I sifted through pretty thoroughly, and I was kind of sad to not find like a teeny tiny, you know,

body, but I just kept everything. And now I'm just wondering if you can walk me through next

steps. Sure. So there is no requirement to do any particular thing, but I would say perhaps the most

suitable thing would be one of two options.

One would be perhaps in your backyard, you can make a little grave and put the remains in a, you know, a box of some sort,

perhaps, and then bury it in the ground in your backyard. And if you wanted to put a marker,

you can. It's not mandatory, but it's, it would seem like something that could bring you comfort.

You don't have to do that, though. The other option would be to inquire with your local Catholic

cemetery if they have a place for miscarried babies. And many Catholic cemeteries do. In fact,

for my own experience, our number 12 child died in miscarriage.

We didn't have any miscarriages before that.

So we never really thought it would happen to us, and it did in our 12th baby.

So what we did is we asked the parish priest, and he said, yes, at the local

Catholic cemetery, they do have a place. And so we were very happily surprised when we went there,

and there was a graveside service. The priest blessed, you know, the remains in the box. And there
