| 1:16.7 | And for those of you who are not familiar with the term, it's Society of St. Pius |

| 1:22.1 | And by way of background, Archbishop Marcel Lefev, who was the founder, the progenitor of this movement, |
| 1:29.0 | he labored for many years, this is in the early to mid-20th century. |
| 1:38.0 | He labored for many years in Africa, in Senegal, for example. |
| 1:42.4 | He was a French-speaking, French-speaking bishop who had started a seminary in a |
| 1:48.5 | cone Switzerland, in the French-speaking section of Switzerland, and he was very committed to the |
| 1:55.1 | traditional form of the liturgy, etc. And so when Vatican II took place in the early to mid-60s, he maintained the |
| 2:04.4 | seminary as a way to form seminarians in the training for the priesthood to celebrate the traditional |
| 2:11.1 | Latin Mass, et cetera, et cetera. So after many years of labor in the missions, he sort of settled into that role, and he became a magnet of sorts for men and women and, of course, vocations who were interested in living out their Catholic faith and the traditional right. |
