I would, however, like to take note of something that's happening in some corners of the internet,

certainly on Twitter it is.

Naomi Wolf, she is a commentator and famous lady, and she says on her, a quote,

or rather a tweet that she has on Twitter, she says, I know it's called X, but I can't quite get to that point yet. She says, reading the Hebrew gospel of Matthew in Hebrew, this text word choice

gives a significantly different picture of Jesus

than do English translations from Greek or Latin. This gospel depicts a Jewish rabbi engaged in

recognizable Jewish scholarly activities and later theologically dot, dot, dot. Okay, so people are in an

uproar and they're, you know, they're smirking and laughing and kind of looking down on this woman because, as I understand it, she's Jewish.

Because the consensus is, well, that was written originally in Greek.

And so there's a lot of like guffawing, like, how can she be so stupid? How could she not

realize that the New Testament was written originally in Greek? Well, there's more to that story.

And that is, number one, the church fathers said, not every single last one of them, but a number of

them who comment on the original

language of the Gospels, they say that Matthew's Gospel, and some even say the other

Gospels as well, but Matthew's Gospel was originally written in Hebrew or Aramaic, and that at some not too distant time later,

rather quickly, in fact, it was translated into Greek. So this is not an outlandish thought. I mean,

it's outlandish to most people nowadays, and they've never heard of that, or it just seems ridiculous to them.
