I saw something on Twitter yesterday that I wanted to bring up today because it's floating

around out there and I thought it would be worthy of a response.

It is an infographic purportedly from Richard Dawkins, who's a preeminent, British atheist, writer,

probably the most famous of the modern atheist nowadays.

And he's a staunch foe of theism, and in particular Christian Theism.

He wrote a book years ago called

The God Delusion, and the God Delusion is his book-length way of poking you in the eye if you believe

in God and saying, you're deluded, you're crazy, you've broken with reality if you believe in God.

That's the essence of the book. When I first read the book, and I thought, okay, let's see what you guys to say. And I must say

that even though he approaches the topic from more or less a scientific standpoint, his reasons

for not believing in gods, he, the sections in which he attempts to deal with, for example, the evidences, the rational

evidences for belief in God, you know, such as motion and change, these were developed

by Aristotle and they were refined and promulgated much more widely by St. Thomas Aquinas.

And the five of them generally are the first one being the evidence from motion and change

and how things are moving and changing by getting bigger, smaller, breaking into pieces, coming into and out of existence.

And these changes are always ascribed to something outside of the thing that changes that causes

it to change. And this also has to do with movement, as the philosophers would describe it,

as the rise from potency to act. And what that means is

that things have potential or potency to be other than how they are, including getting older,
