the Holy Souls in Purgatory can be prayed for

If the souls who are declared blessed, venerable, or servants of God are not definitively in heaven yet, how can we ask them to pray for us? All right, well, a few things. It's not to say that the souls in purgatory can't pray for you. I mean, I think they can. I don't think there's any reason to think that they can't. I think that based upon what we know about purgatory,

they're very much absorbed in their own sufferings.

But the church doesn't say that they can't pray for you.

Now, a saint that has been declared blessed,

keep this in mind, in the case of a beatification,

even though not yet canonized, if a saint has been beatified,
