Amy - I had the same situation as Mary with my husband and I stayed close with Christ. We went through separation and he did go through recovery and he cleaned up his act. (07:01)

George - I am going through the same situation accept I am in her husband's shoes. My advice is for the husband to fix it NOW. I work hard, but I had a drinking problem. I am going through a divorce now. (25:41)
Linda - Several years ago, my children stopped going to church when they went to college. I started texting them Catholic bits and now both of my kids are back in the Church. (34:06)
Ann - My dad was a violent alcoholic. We convinced mom to leave the house before he killed her. It wasn't until my dad realized that she was serious about leaving that he turned his act around. He quit cold turkey and they were back together again.
Sylvia - I understand what George is going through. I am a recovering alcoholic. I put my family through a lot, but there is hope. (46:15)

1:01.2	you know, and you're at your wits end. You've gone to counseling, I think you mentioned,
1:06.4	but he wouldn't participate really. So you're sort of at your breaking point. Do I have it right?
1:13.8	Pretty much, yes. Okay. So here is where I was going to go with this. We talked about AA meetings and you said he doesn't think he has a problem.
1:19.2	Everybody knows he has a problem but he's not willing to admit it.
1:22.3	And so the idea of him darkening the door of an AA meeting is pretty slim, right?
1:26.9	Because he just doesn't feel like
1:28.2	he needs to do that, right? Correct. Okay. So you've tried everything, nothing works, and here you are.
1:36.3	Try this. Yep. The church foresees situations like this, where it allows what's known as a canonical separation.
1:49.9	And the canonical separation can take place when the aggrieved spouse you, for example.
1:57.9	You've reached this point and he, in essence essence a husband or a wife, it doesn't matter
2:04.7	which, I mean, either one can do this, can forfeit their right to live together with the other
