- Ann - My dad was a violent alcoholic. We convinced mom to leave the house before he killed her. It wasn't until my dad realized that she was serious about leaving that he turned his act around. He quit cold turkey and they were back together again.
- Sylvia - I understand what George is going through. I am a recovering alcoholic. I put my family through a lot, but there is hope. (46:15)

| 1:22.3 | And so the idea of him darkening the door of an AA meeting is pretty slim, right? |
| 1:26.9 | Because he just doesn't feel like |
| 1:28.2 | he needs to do that, right? Correct. Okay. So you've tried everything, nothing works, and here you are. |
| 1:36.3 | Try this. Yep. The church foresees situations like this, where it allows what's known as a canonical separation. |
