So what an honor and a privilege it is for me to be invited by Pastor Andy and the team

to come to speak to you about a topic that I'm not only passionate about, but it is a topic

that has actually been a priority for my life and my family's

life for now almost 40 years. Next year, it'll be 40 years since I literally wrote down a vision

for our topic today, which is the art of neighboring. So for me, this is not a sermon. This is a way of

life. Now, in the first week of this four-parts series, Pastor Andy

talked about the priority of neighboring from the scriptures. In the second week, he talked about

the practices of neighboring from the scriptures, and then last week he talked about the power

of neighboring from the scriptures. And my assignment is to sort of land the plane on this series

with the title of the path to neighboring.

How do we go from where we are at

to where Jesus wants us to live,

to live in a space where we love our neighbor as ourself. And I wonder how big of a deal

this is in the scripture and how big of the deals in your life. Unless I miss my guess,

life is quite overwhelming for you. And maybe the idea of loving your neighbor isn't the hot topic

of the day. You know, you're struggling with paying the bills or you've

got a career thing on your mind or you've got a relational crisis or a health crisis.

And so neighboring, you get it, but it's not really super high on your list.

The question is, how important is it in the scripture?

So I want to ask you a question.

I want you to get a number in your head, and then I'll give you the answer.
