Hi, Stephen, thank you for giving us your time and coming on to the past lives podcast.

I read your book and I thought it was fascinating, but could you tell us how did you first become interested in the afterlife?

Well, you know, I grew up in a family that was very materialistic in their view of

reality, you know, that you couldn't, that it was kind of like a mechanical universe, sort

of the 19th century idea of, oh, you know, everything is, if you can't see it under a microscope,

if you can't measure it, that it doesn't exist.

And so I grew up in that kind of a family, which I guess when by the time I was out of college, I would have called myself an agnostic, if not an atheist.

But something happened to me.

It was an experience, you might call a paranormal experience, where I actually left my body for a few seconds
