The near-death experience of Pam Reynolds is one of the most intriguing.

If a group of near-death experience investigators had sat down with a group of doctors and worked out an experiment to study a near-death experience,

then this would have been one of their scenarios. Pam Reynolds had a basilar artery aneurysm.

The basilar artery is part of the blood supply system for the brain and central nervous system.

It is formed where the two vertebral arteries join at the base of the skull.

To have an aneurysm at the basilar artery is a very serious condition, and her neurosurgeon,

Dr. Robert F. Spetzler, of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, knew straight

away that operating using standard procedures was not viable.
