Why don't you turn to Matthew chapter 13 for our text?

We're entering into a new section here of Matthew.

We've been sort of camping out on the, you know, the beautiful miracles of Jesus.

Cleansing the leper, healing the centurion servant who was sick of the palsy, and just, you know,

Jesus just healing so many people and it's

and it was so good to look at those and how Jesus was operating and moving and we learned so much

but now Jesus is going to shift gears and he's moving into a section that some scholars would

call the kingdom parables the parables of of Jesus. And a parable is just

an illustration or story that teaches something that's true. And now by this time, we've

already seen Jesus fulfilling prophecy, speaking of Bible prophecy, Jesus has fulfilled Bible prophecy about who the Messiah would be.

Just by the things like being born in Bethlehem, that was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He would be raised in the city of Nazareth, or the little town of

Nazareth. There would be a star that would be seen. Like there was all these prophecies that Jesus would fulfill.

But one of those fulfilling prophecies was that he would speak in parables.

It's Psalm 78, verse 2.

This Psalm, by the way, Psalm 78 is a messianic Psalm.

It's a prophetic Psalm about the coming Messiah.

And it says, there of the Messiah,

I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old. Dark sayings doesn't mean

evil. It means more like something that's veiled or covered as a mystery that's about to be

unveiled. That's the word there when it says dark saying. So the Messiah would

come and speak and sort of unveil truths from the Old Testament. And that's exactly what
