Because the economy, well, it's going to be pretty busy.

And we begin today with a brief perusal of the macroeconomic calendar over the next

10 days, two weeks or so.

We get an update on inflation on Thursday.

The Federal Reserve's preferred measure, personal consumption expenditures, PCE.

Remember that when you hear it.

Then Friday, there's the November jobs report.

Those are both, of course, biggies.

Government funding runs out on December 16th.

Don't sleep on that one, of course.

And then next week, just after midnight on December 9th, the transportation gears of this

economy may welcome to a screeching halt.

And I'm thinking that screeching sound you hear in movies when trains stop suddenly.

The Washington Post reports today that the White House is getting set to ask Congress

to do something to put off a railroad strike that looms after three years of negotiations.
