us. Roddy, can I just start by asking you, what is the Dean of the Faculty of Advocates?

So the Faculty of Advocates, which is often confused as for some academic institution,

is the representative body of advocates in Scotland. We are the equivalent of barristers in Scotland,

the ones that wear the wigs. And the Dean of Faculty is the head of that organisation.

So I, along with five other office bearers, head up the Faculty of Advocates and represent its

interests with politicians and other third parties.
