Well, hello, my friends, and welcome to the Live Inspired podcast, Monday morning moments with

I record these so you and I can begin our days and our weeks in awe

and on fire with a burst of inspiration. Listening to the radio or listen to a podcast can sometimes

provide and stoke that inspiration. A couple weeks back, I came across an interview discussing

the 25 recordings the U.S. Library of Congress

had selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry. Among this list were some familiar

sounds like Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You.

That's one of my wife's favorite songs.

John Lennon's Imagine and the theme song for the Super Mario Brothers game,

which immediately took me back to many Saturday mornings trying to save Princess Peach

and collect as many gold coins as possible.

But there was one recording that I was especially excited to hear had been selected.

It's the recording of a pale blue dot by Carl Sagan.

You see, the photo of the pale blue dot hangs in my office.

The office is primarily reserved for podcast guests, family,

and historical icons that I look up to. But there is one picture, the pale blue dot that hangs.

Not a person. And I believe it's a single most important photograph ever taken in the history of the

world. I'm going to say that again. I believe the picture that hangs in my office, the pale blue dot, is the single most important photograph taken in the entire history of the world.

While every other picture in my office is taken from a few feet away from the subject, the pale blue dot, was photographed from a bit

farther back. In fact, the subject of this picture was captured from a distance of four

billion with a B miles. Four billion miles away. The picture is grainy. It primarily shows the immensity of space.
