The Palace, from the tutors to the Windsor's 500 years of British history at Hampton Court

is a wonderful book about the story of the British monarchy as it was lived out within Hampton Court Palace.

Hampton Court is often cited as one of those beautiful palaces in England and it has been the

setting for so many things, royal weddings, coronation balls, court

intrigue, murder and assassination plots, sex scandals, and so much, so many more important

events in British history, some of which, like me, you are probably

unaware.

So I am so delighted to speak with the author of the palace, Gareth Russell.

Gareth has somehow managed to include 500 years of the history of Hampton Court in a

really fun and engaging read. You'll hear stories of some of the most intriguing people

who grace the halls of the palace, stories that I found very surprising,

fascinating, and sometimes very funny. I laughed out loud more than once while

reading the palace. And you don't often have that experience with a history book,

which this is much more than a history book.
