Summary

In early ‘80s California, a new kind of music was brewing that blended the psychedelic sounds of the '60s with the modern day post-punk ethos. 1:37.4	11 years? 11 years, right? The Swedish pop garage rock band just blew up in the early
1:45.8	2000s, late 90s. Part of that wave of garage rock bands. This was sort of the
1:52.7	Swedish response to what was going on in places like New York City at the time.
1:57.6	Yeah, the strokes and the white striped. I love all that 2000s nostalgia. So there
2:04.6	was a whole nest of those Swedish garage bands, you know, soundtrack of our
2:09.4	lives and a few others, but The Hives were the ones that sort of poked through
2:14.1	the surface with the main offender that was an actual hit. And it was great. And seeing them live
2:20.8	and documenting their records basically defined that sound for a new era. Great sense of humor,
2:28.2	you know? Yeah. I mean, you've got three chords. You've got skinny pants and you've got humor.
