This is the first time since before the lockdown, before the pandemic,

that I've been outside at night.

It's so calm. This is shortcuts. I'm looking out over the marshes and the nature

reserve near where I live. Brief encounters and I can't see anyone else. True stories. Radio adventures and found sound.

I can hear faint traffic,

but it's not louder than the wind.

And in the distance,

there's the twinkling lights of the flats

on the other side of the river.

Today, the outside.

I'm lifting my head up to look at the stars

and I have never seen a more cloudy, polluted sky.

There's nothing but a kind of glowing red fog. So I'm going to transfer you

into the capable hands of Crystal Dinappoli, an indigenous astronomer looking up at the stars
