One summer afternoon, our oldest son came back from vacation Bible school with a little

seed starter that he had made out of an egg carton.

What type of seeds did you plant, I asked him?

He didn't remember and explained how the label had fallen off during the car ride home.

But he said with great excitement that he hoped the seeds would grow into a pumpkin.

Well, I told him you can hope all you want, but the seeds will grow into whatever you planted.

We tended to the egg carton for weeks, waiting with high expectation.

What would the outcome be of what he planted?

But have you ever planted one thing with hopes it would become something else entirely?

Well, this meditation from Galatians chapter 6 is a reflection on the ultimate outcome
