One summer afternoon, our oldest son came back from vacation Bible school with a little

seed starter that he had made out of an egg carton.

What type of seeds did you plant, I asked him?

He didn't remember and explained how the label had fallen off during the car ride home.

But he said with great excitement that he hoped the seeds would grow into a pumpkin.

Well, I told him you can hope all you want, but the seeds will grow into whatever you planted.

We tended to the egg carton for weeks, waiting with high expectation.

What would the outcome be of what he planted?

But have you ever planted one thing with hopes it would become something else entirely?

Well, this meditation from Galatians chapter 6 is a reflection on the ultimate outcome

of what we plant.

No matter our hopes, dreams, or best laid plans, what we sow is what we will harvest.

And by the way, it wasn't a pumpkin.

They were daisies.

So for now, begin by allowing this time in this place to ponder the outcome of God's work,

the moment to be renewed by the Holy Father, restored by the Son, and recovered by the Holy

Spirit.
