Hey friends, welcome to the Oscar edition of the PhD on Boker.

He's Perez.

How are you, man?

I would say it's not a hundred percent the Oscar edition I would say it's like 90 something

percent but let's get right to the Oscars and we have to start with Chris Rock I

don't think there has ever been a host as good as Chris Rock. I love Ellen. I would say Ellen is also really good. I love whenever Billy Crystal would do it. But what I loved about Chris Rock hosting the Academy Awards is not only was he funny, but he was exceptionally funny.

Like there is funny and then there's like next level funny.

I thought he was next level funny consistently

throughout that really long telecast and what makes him so brilliant is that he is just naturally that funny on his own.

There were so many moments where he was spontaneously unscripted ad-libing, hilarious.

And I also loved that Chris Rock was able to also be political and relevant and timely and not mean.

Especially because we just came from the Golden Globes where we talked about it on that

podcast. I felt as a viewer that Ricky Gervais, whom I love, just was almost making me feel dumb watching it and too mean. I don't think he was mean at all to anybody he was smart like

he was dropping some truth bombs well because tonight was had a ton it, and it started off with Oscar So White.
