| 0:00.0 | You are listening to TechTime with Summers F1 presented by Mist Apex Podcasts. We live F1. |
| 0:07.2 | Hi, I'm your host Matt Trumpets, and we have none other than that story, Denizen of the |
| 0:33.2 | Tech Deep Matthew Summerfield, aka Summers F1, technical editor at Motorsport.com, who has |
| 0:40.4 | surfaced long enough to spout some F1 wisdom our way. But before we get started, I have to remind you |
| 0:46.4 | that we are an independent podcast, producing the podcasting shit with the kind permission of our |
| 0:51.8 | better halves. We aim to bring you a race review before our Monday morning commute. We might be wrong, |
| 0:56.8 | but we're first. Welcome aboard, and as always, thanks for taking the time to join us. |
| 1:02.8 | No problem, Matt. You have pulled me away from the Master's Coverage, but, you know, |
| 1:06.8 | Formula One does tight precedence. Yeah, okay. I know I owe you more than a few |
| 1:11.2 | pints for that one then. Most definitely. It's only the first round, though, so we're okay. |
| 1:17.0 | Right. Well, we're in great luck here. We have a whole show to play with, which isn't always the |
| 1:22.0 | case. And so, rather than start with a discussion of what the teams have been up to specifically, |
| 1:27.2 | I want to ask you a little bit about a more general topic. And this comes from sort of |
| 1:32.8 | reading your articles, but where are the teams aiming for low hanging fruit in this regulation set? |
| 1:39.2 | I mean, is it the front wing in place? Is it the beam wing? Where are they looking to make the |
| 1:44.1 | most gains for the least amount of time and testing investment? I think that's really a question |
| 1:51.2 | that you have to ask from an individual team point of view, because each of them are in a very |
| 1:56.4 | different area in terms of where they are in the development cycle. So if we look at Red Bull for |
| 2:01.4 | Argument Sake, they have a very different approach to other teams up and down the grid, |
| 2:05.8 | just purely because they have a massive advantage compared to their rivals. If we look further |
| 2:11.1 | down the grid, it says somebody like Alfa Romeo. If we look at Australia through Argument Sake, |
| 2:15.5 | they bought a new nose cone and front wing. And so they're looking very differently to other teams. |
