Summary
The most dangerous thing about self-deception is that when we’re operating in it, we don’t even know that we’re being deceived. Failing to be true to what we believe is right causes us to rationalize and make excuses. Deceiving ourselves causes a disturbance in us that we can’t reconcile, because deep down inside, we know exactly what we should do. Fooling ourselves in this manner results in spiritual blindness us to the truth. The best way to avoid this trap is to follow through and live the Word of grace after hearing it; this powerfully internalizes the truth as it is now.

| 1:08.3 | you Taff and I had a great talk yesterday and and one of the things we realized is that a lot of self-deception was coming from the pulpits of America, coming from the pulpits of the world. |
| 1:19.7 | And, you know, there's some deception that comes from social media. It comes from everywhere. Everybody in here, including myself, we've all been in situations where we were deceived |
| 1:29.3 | and the prayer is Lord help me not to be deceived or at least Lord help me to see when I am being |
| 1:38.3 | deceived you don't realize the progress you make when you realize, whoa, I'm deceived. |
| 1:47.0 | But what happens when people don't realize the importance of getting free from self-deception? |
| 1:55.0 | I mean, it's a playground for the enemy. |
| 1:58.0 | And he just plays with you and with confidence you carry your life on in self-deception |
| 2:03.4 | and can't nobody tell you none because you know, that's what deception means is you think |
| 2:08.2 | you're right but you're wrong but you think you're right. And you can't see that self-deception. |
| 2:13.3 | Then you get older and then you get old and now you're the new old people and and you didn't realize you spent 30 years of your life and self-deception. |
