In late September of my freshman year of high school, just four months after my conversion,

I attended the CU at the Polo Rally at the flag pole in front of my high school.

CU at the pole is a yearly event that gathers evangelical students at their respective

institutions to pray at the foot of the American flag.

By my senior year, I went beyond the yearly event, I committed to praying at the flag

every Friday and invited anyone to join me.

Because I was alone when I stood there at the pole an hour before school, sometimes

there were three or four of us.

We prayed for God to reign in our school and in our nation.

We asked Him to combat the godlessness of our culture.

We gathered at the foot of our country's national symbol in order to ask God to retake

what was rightfully His.
