I want to start with a quote that you wrote in the book Raising Lazarus, and it just

gives me the chills, and you write, about the victims of oxycontin, quote, these are

not moral failures or criminals, but these are people with treatable diseases.

So do we stigmatize the victims of oxycontin, you know, because it's psychologically

easier for us to blame them as opposed to so hollowing the reality that there could be

a company like Purdue Pharma that is so evil, and it's right in front of our very eyes.

Yeah, I mean, I think stigma is really at the basis of the fact that our main forms

of dealing with opioid use disorder in the folks who have fallen to that are to incarcerate

them, or to just let them die, to medically abandon them.
