He says this in verse 34. Hearing that, Jesus silenced the Sadducees and the Pharisees and they got together

and one of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question.

Teachers, talking to Jesus, which is the greatest commandment in the law?

Jesus replied, well, that's easy.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

This is the first and the greatest commandment. And the second is similar.

The second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two

commandments. What Jesus is saying is before I came, you had to fulfill all these laws, all these commandments.

But now that I'm here, all you have to do is love God and love people.

If you do these two things, you fulfill all 613 in the Old Testament.
