Tonight I'll be taking a look at one of the most widely recognized yet highly misunderstood

supernatural entities throughout

North America, an entity that Pulp culture has made famous over the decades and unfortunately

turned into a staple of paranormal media everywhere.

What follows is a brief introduction to these mysterious creatures and some possible examples

of eyewitness encounters involving them.

Creatures most commonly known as, skin walkers. There are certain aspects of the paranormal world that frustrate me, and tonight's topic is on my short list for a couple of reasons.

And if you'll bear with me, I'll explain why.

As we all know, the entertainment industry likes to take topics and turn them

into something that they can capitalize on. Anything that fits a particular niche or narrative

that makes them money, they'll manipulate it until any resemblance of its original

form is completely unrecognizable.

And this is what I believe has happened to the subject of Skin Walkers.

No matter what show I watch or which podcast I listen to,

almost everything unexplainable seems to be a skin walker nowadays.

Strange sounds, odd-looking people, or even digital artifacting on ring-doorbell cameras, it must be a

skin walker.

Now I fully understand that this is a byproduct of our society, which feels as though it needs to put a label on everything, especially

when we don't understand it.

But if anything, this just muddies the water and trivializes a topic that should be taken

much more seriously.
