devotional. Hey, what's up everybody? Thanks for joining us for a few minutes on the daily drive. Some of you

listen literally on your daily drive to work or school. Others listen at different

times and different places. And the cool thing is we are all on different spiritual mile markers

and some of us been doing this a long time. Others of us is brand new. So wherever you are and however

you listen, grateful that you would make the time to stick some truth, some hope and wisdom from God's

word and to your heart. We left off yesterday in John chapter 10, you would make the time to stick some truth, some hope, and wisdom from God's word into your

heart. We left off yesterday in John chapter 10 with Jesus using an illustration from the

shepherding world, telling the religious leaders that he was the gate. He says in verse 9,

I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture. And then he

alludes to them as the kind of thieves that bypass the gate and climb over the sheep pen just to get to

the sheep. They're pretty clueless to exactly what he is saying. So Jesus steps it up even more.

He says, not only am I the gate, he says this, I am the good shepherd.

The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Now there was one entrance for the sheep pen,

so often at night the shepherd would literally lay across the entrance himself acting as a door,

blocking access to the sheep from wolves

and other varmets.

He's saying, I'm that committed to the sheep.
