I can't say that I was wildly successful as a comedian, even minimalistically successful.

But I did spend many, many years in comedy clubs, working comics, doing sets and seeing the process and seeing what they were doing right, seeing what they were doing wrong,

seeing what I was doing right, and what I was doing that wasn't working. And it really was an amazing training.
