Summary

What happens when someone asks us what our story is, and it just doesn’t feel like it’s good enough, big enough, or at all “noteworthy”? That’s what happened when I asked Aurora to come onto the podcast, and she felt like maybe she didn’t have that “thing”, no real authority on any one topic, feeling a little lost about it all… then realized, maybe this IS the thing, maybe THIS needs to be discussed. Have you ever felt like your life and your story is just not noteworthy enough? Just not extraordinary? Come take a listen and hear how we unpack exactly that.

0:13.0

and each week I'm going to be dishing out some sweetness mixed in with some seeds of wisdom

or something like that. So get ready to get inspired, get candid,

get real, because we are all in this digital space together. All right, everyone, welcome

0:33.2

back. I'm really excited to have today's guest on because we're going to be talking about something

0:37.8

that isn't really ever been a subject matter before and that I've ever heard of. And I'm really

0:43.7

stoked to kind of have this conversation. So please welcome Aurora. I already forget how to

0:49.2

say your last name. You're fine. Macawsland. Macawsland. Okay. So we met on Instagrams like normal, like normal. That is my normal now. That's

0:57.4

literally how I meet everybody. But you are somebody who is a really great content creator. I want to

1:03.6

use the word soothing is like the thing that I often feel. But I mean, you're like a young mom,

1:10.1

your wife. You've got just beautiful

1:11.8

content, a lovely blog. Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you even got into the

1:16.9

space of doing this in the first place. How I got started is actually a really funny story.

1:22.2

When my husband, I got married five years ago, he actually had more Instagram followers

1:25.8

than me, which really isn't saying something. I think he had 700 followers. Still, Shane has like 11. I'm proud of him. Oh, man.

1:34.7

I honestly just remember one night he was at work and I was looking at my Instagram and I had like

1:39.5

300 followers. And I was like, you know what? I'm very competitive. So I was like, I'm just going to get more

1:45.6

followers than him. And I made it a goal to get like a thousand followers because I thought that was

1:51.0

so many followers just would be incredible. Right. So kind of just started trying to gain followers.

1:57.9

And I did. And after I hit a thousand, it just kind of like, it was before the

2:03.4

algorithm when it was very easy to grow. When it was actually like the by the time of day like
