Last weekend, I got engaged.

And it just so happens that my good friend Kyle Banduho had the same idea.

Honestly, neither of us had any idea what the other was doing.

When he texted me a photo on Friday night, I was both happy for him and astonished that we

strangely picked the exact same weekend without talking about it prior.

If you're not familiar with Kyle, you should be. Not only does he host the Dad Gun podcast

about fatherhood, but he also recently launched another podcast about sports movies called

Trouble with Descript. Oh, and on top of all that and his day job, he juggles all of it while

being a single father. Well, that is until he dropped on one knee. Let's hear from him.

All right, Kyle, well, I guess first and foremost, a congratulations is due.

And a congratulations to you, sir. Thank you. Really, you and I had no idea that we were doing

this the same weekend. None. We have discussed before like we were in that weird stage of like

being expected to propose or imminent proposal, but not really knowing when we were going to do it.

Everyone's kind of looking around like, all right, when's the next domino dropping?

Exactly. Excuse me. I want to talk to you both about leading up to it and the moment itself.

What was the most nerve-racking part of proposing? The most nerve-racking part was my number one

goal was to surprise her was to for it to be a surprise. That was like goal number one. And so

getting busted in some way, like if she saw the ring in my jacket or something, like that had me

like nervous. I wasn't ever nervous about the answer or anything. I just wanted it to be a

surprise and I wanted to be perfect. So any sort of slip up, I basically I had the ring in my pocket

for almost like four or five hours beforehand. And that had me like shook because I mean it was on
