Okay, we are actually doing an in-person podcast today.

This is used to be the ethos of the show at the beginning, was actually sit down with somebody, have a meaningful conversation, and getting to upload it to the internet for everyone to kind of tune in with.

And then the pandemic happened and we rarely get these opportunities anymore unless it's Becky who waltz down the street.

So today

I have my dear friend, Daniel, is here. Daniel Rase Koka. And I, you might know them from

Instagram as do the Daniel. You might see him on CityLine doing all the things. And you are a

longtime listener of the pod too. So this is quite a treat.

I am. I've been a huge fan. Obviously, we've known each other quite some time now. We've been trying to do this episode forever.

Yeah, literally. Yeah. And but life happens and that's fine. But yeah, you were one of the first podcasts that I ever listened to. I never really got into it. It was only the last like 12 months.

Really? Yeah. I don't even listen to podcasts that are like my podcast. That's funny. I appreciate it.

It's like I like a crime podcast. Fair. That's it. Okay. So I listen to you. I listen to one that's called Terrible Thanks for asking.

Oh my God. Love her.

Yes, yes, yes. She's the best. And then Julio got me on Ologies, which is all about learning about different sciences. Oh, cool. There's an episode about like butterfly scientists. Yeah. Oh my goodness. So I have to ask you, what made you really say yes to coming on the pod? like what what made you go, okay, like, I'm ready to hop on and be a guest on the show that I listened to.

Okay. So obviously, I love your content and we've become friends over the years. But it was the vulnerability that a lot of people bring to these episodes. That was really important to me. There's a lot of, how do I say this nicely, polished versions of people online? For sure. And I've always appreciated that you're not like that. You're very, and that's not an insult. It's actually a compliment. But it's like, this is me, this is who I am. 100%. It's not this like perfect little version. And I've always tried to lean into that a little bit. Obviously, you put some finesse on yourself and you put yourself on the internet, but I've always wanted to just be 100% myself. And people, over the years have sort of said, like, don't be too personal. It scares people off. And I'm like, actually, it's the opposite for me. Yeah, I'm the same way I draw into like, I actually saw a post by Victoria Garrick yesterday, who hosts the real pod.

And she did a post of just a text that she sent somebody in a moment of being overwhelmed.

And the likes on it were really, really high.
