So make yourselves comfy, and I'll begin. Thank you. Once upon a time, there lived an old miser.

He had a house just outside of town.

He did not keep much company, really any at all for that matter.

His house was small and quite bare, but that was the way he liked it.

It was surrounded by a wall, not too high, but high enough to keep the riffraff out.

In the yard, he kept a garden.

And in the garden, there was a secret place.

It was in this place that the miser kept his gold.

Every day he would go to the spot, dig up his treasure and count it,

piece by piece by piece, to make sure it was all there.

He made so many trips and spent so much time at this particular spot in the garden

that a thief, who had been watching him, guessed that it was gold, the miser counted.

One night, the thief snuck over the wall and went to the secret spot.

He dug out the gold and took it.

Off he went quietly in the night, and no one was the wiser.
