What about his street-level observations stood out to you? His observations are really good because

he actually went around the country and listened to people.

He wasn't a reporter from Washington or New York who would just sit up in the air-conditioned office and suck his thumb and pound on the computer and say, what a good boy I am.

He went out, he listened to people, he got out into the hinterland, what some people call the flyover zone of deplorable people.
