Today you'll hear Marvin's 2019 interview with Emma Green.

Green is a religion reporter for The Atlantic, where she's been willing to write about contested topics like abortion.

Marvin Olasky is here now to tell us about this interview.

Marvin, welcome.

Well, thank you, Jill. Green writes for the Atlantic, a news outlet that you've called

probably America's Best Center Left publication, and she writes about religion. Tell us what you

know about Green and why you wanted to interview her. Well, let me tell you a little story.

The Washington Post, about three decades ago, missed covering a big Washington Pro-Life March,

several hundred thousand participants.

And a lot of Christians said the Post was showing its malice by not covering the march.

The Post at that time did not want to admit malice, so it plea

bargained. It said, hey, no one in our newsroom knew this was important. So that's the way it is,

and lots of reporting about Christianity. It's either malice or ignorance. Emma's not malicious.

She's not ignorant.

It's great to find a religion reporter who does her homework and likes to report rather

than just sling an opinion.

And in this interview, you walk us through eight of her stories and how she approached

each of them as a journalist.

And you aren't afraid to give some constructive criticism, which all good reporters
