So this episode, we're going to be talking about Ohio and lawmakers' efforts in Ohio

to try to pass a law that would effectively ban abortion across the board in the state.

It's called a heartbeat ban, and it is really,

really insidious. It is. It's terrible. And what's also terrible is that Ohio isn't the only state

to try this. Today, we're going to give you some of the background on these radical anti-choice

bills and explain the strategy conservatives are using to try to get the federal courts to bite,

and if they did, uphold a bill that would effectively overturn Roe without, you know, actually overturning Roe.

Okay, so let's talk about this Ohio bill. It would ban abortion as soon as a fetal heart tone or a quote-unquote heartbeat can be detected,

which is usually around six weeks.
