It's early in the morning of April 15, 2016.

Jessica Boynton is in critical condition at Atlanta Medical Center after she was found

hours earlier in a locked closet of her apartment with an apparent gunshot wound to her head.

Her husband, Griffin Police Officer Matthew Boynton, is now at the police station where

the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate what happened.

Today's date is Friday, April 15, 2016, times approximately 4.18 am.

This is a citizen special agent charge, Christa Margo.

They know that Matthew got a text from his wife after midnight saying she'd been thinking

about suicide.

They know that Matthew rushed home and says he heard gunshots coming from his apartment.

Jessica was found unresponsive bleeding from a wound to her head.

Matthew's service weapon is found underneath her body.

There are two bullet holes in nearby walls and while paramedics seem to think a bullet

entered her skull, there's no sign of an exit wound.

And what they can tell at this stage, it appears at least one of the shots was fired at a downward

angle toward the top of Jessica's head.

I just want to preface it by saying, you know, this is a criminal investigation, obviously,

that's why we've been requested to come in and, you know, the interview is strictly voluntary.
